This is an animation which shows data from a particle collision at the ATLAS detector at CERN. The particles have collided, exploded and annihilated. The blue particle tracks are easily identified as Muons – which can travel through lead. This configuration of particles may illustrate the existence of the Higgs boson production and decay into four muons in the ATLAS detector at CERN. Visualization by Joao Pequenao. Dr Belyaev performed an analogous study with Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) collaboration.
