"I have worked for two years as a Physicist in Symetrica’s small R&D team. Symetrica is a high-technology spin-out Company from the University of Southampton whose main focus is to develop new technologies for use in radiation detection.

"I have been able to apply my core Physics and Mathematics skills from day one and have also learned a great deal since I commenced my research.

"The MPhys course provided a great set of transferable skills andI found my degree prepared me very well for a research role and I had no problems getting up to speed in making a significant contribution.

"There is a great balance between studying and student life at Southampton and a great student atmosphere - I am still in touch with several of my fellow alumni."
