You'll get the chance to see the astrodome and #SotonAstro exhibit and workshop. Dr Poshak Ghandi will be explaining his work turning star data in sound for people with visual impairments.

Aurora Zoo at Southampton Science and Engineering Festival

Come take part in our new citizen science research project  'The Aurora Zoo’ which is part of the Zooniverse. Help our Space Environment Physics (SEP) group understand photos of aurora they have taken in Svalbard, Norway. What do the variety of shapes mean for their auroral research? We'll be running a workshop led by SEP astronomer Dr Dan Whiter.

Laser show at Southampton Science and Engineering Festival

Our 'Award-winning' laser show the 'Light Express' features a dazzling light show created by powerful lasers not generally seen outside research labs. The show consists of fascinating, interactive and enjoyable demonstrations exploring physics and light-based technology. The show explains the science behind the internet and showcases the fibre optics research work of the Future Manufacturing Photonics Hub.

Mobile planetarium at Southampton Science and Engineering Festival

Come along and explore the astrophysics of our Universe inside our mobile planetarium. Learn about what astronomers do from our 15min film called 'We are Astronomers' and get an introduction to Aurora Physics with our Northern lights video clip. Finally, you can experience an interactive tour of the night sky constellations and the physics of space from our knowledgable and enthusiastic astronomer team.
