Postgraduate study

As a postgraduate member of one of our vibrant research groups, you will attend lectures and seminars, and there will be opportunities to attend short courses or summer schools, such as Institute of Physics workshops and Nato Advanced Study Institutes. We will support and encourage you to present your results at national and international conferences, and to write up your results for publication in scientific journals.

Astronomy Group

The Astro Group, are world experts in the study of compact stellar objects. They observe x-ray and gamma-ray sources and are leaders in the Integral space mission.

Quantum, Light and Matter Group

QLM explores how matter interacts at the smallest and fastest scales, and is partnered with the UK NanoPhotonics Centre and ORC.
